Morning Hike

We were back in Backbone State Park, Iowa, for the second weekend of May.  The weather was a bit chilly, but for the most part, it was a beautiful weekend.  The photos above are of the walk I took from the campground, up to the main gate, and back.  It was about a two mile or so hike and was a relatively easy one at that.

For the afternoon hike, we decided to follow the West Lake trail from the campground, along the river, and tried to reach the other campground located at the West Gate entrance.  We decided to turn back about three miles down the trail, although, at the time we did not know that we had traveled three miles.  It was not until we reached camp that we found out it was a six mile round trip hike.

Life Around Camp

One of the things I have not done a much of in the photos, is to capture what goes on at camp.  I thought this would be a great opportunity to show a little bit of camp life, and some of the people that enjoy camping with us.
