Memorial Day 2009
Our first family camping trip of the year. It is a beautiful county
preserve that we frequent quite regularly. As depicted in the pictures,
the scenery is quite varied. Part of the park is a wonderful walk in the
woods, and other parts are wide areas of prairie ground.

The wooded area of the park is great to take a drive, take a walk, or if you
prefer, a horseback ride. There is even a spot in the road where you have
to drive through a small creek.

There is even an interesting spot near the campgrounds that used to be a farm
field. Even though it was converted over many years ago, you can still
pick out some of the farm lanes that were used to navigate around the field.

Of course, there is always life around the campsite. This year we had
about nine people in camp and we were able to put together quite a nice little
campsite compound.
