We
camped at Myre-Big Island State Park in Minnesota
for the first time when we brought our new trailer
home four years ago. Ever since, we have been
trying to find time to go back again. Last
year, 2011, we had planned to spend the Fourth of
July here, but that did not work out. We
finally made it this year and we were not
disappointed. We took our canoe with us and
spent the afternoon on Albert Lea Lake. It was
interesting to see the number of birds that call the
lake home. I really would like to
circumnavigate the lake, but that would take longer
than an afternoon in a canoe. We will be going
back and canoeing longer, as well as exploring some
of the numerous hiking trails that the park has to
offer.
