This was our third time back to Myre-Big Island State Park in Minnesota, and only a few weeks from our fifth anniversary with the Scamp.  We also took our canoe again so we could explore a different part of the lake.  This is in the water that separates the Island Campground from the Whitefox campground.  There is quite a bit of wildlife to watch, as you can see in the photos.  We also found a nice spot where you can see evidence of fish near the surface, such as waves made while they swim, as well as a bit of jumping.  Unfortunately, the water is still just a tad thick with silt so you cannot see the fish swimming.

My brother joined us on Albert Lea Lake this weekend and brought his boat along as well.  So we decided to explore parts of the lake that are too far away to try and reach with a canoe.  It was really interesting to pass beneath the nearby interstate highway.  I have been wanting to do this since we started coming to the park.  Of course, Sammy still does not know quite what to make of the canoe and the boat, but he did really well for being his first time in both.
